Exciting changes coming to our U7/U8 program!
Following the recent decision by all member clubs of the Metro Kids Soccer organization to move to in-house programs, we’re excited to announce changes to our program for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
Collectively, all clubs believe this change will allow us to increase opportunities for player and coach development in a supportive environment.
We will continue to form teams, practice during the week, and play games on Saturdays. We are very pleased to continue our partnership with River Park Soccer Club and will continue to play matches between the clubs. This means our teams will have a lot more home games and less travel.
One of the big ideas we’re looking to implement this season is the addition of new Skills Development nights. We envision our U7/U8 teams coming together for a joint practice session. Experienced coaches will host sessions where they will demonstrate new skills and activities for all teams – then teams will break out and practice individually. We implemented this last season in our Comp program and the feedback was that these are really valuable sessions for our players and coaches to learn new skills, pick up coaching tips and build more community within our program.
The format of other programs remain unchanged, and we will continue our close partnerships with the former MKS clubs in the U9-U12 Capital Soccer Alliance.
We can’t wait for the season to start and look forward to much fun ahead!
